Six Pedro Pascal movies and series you can stream right now

This Pascal, so hot at the moment. (Zoolander …)

If you’ve been paying attention, there’s one name that’s been gaining more and more popularity year after year: Pedro Pascal. Originally a stage actor, Pascal burst onto the scene in 2014 in the hit HBO series The iron Throne, and his career took off from there.

One attribute that sets Pascal above the rest is his palpable appreciation of the opportunities presented to him. There is so much joy, respect and pure gratitude that is evident in every performance that shines through and lights up the screen, making her work even more enjoyable to watch.

So, without further ado, here are six Pedro Pascal projects available to stream right now in the United States.

The iron Throne –HBO Max

We should start with the man’s favorite role, Prince Oberyn Martell, of The iron Throne. Dorne’s Red Viper was featured and sadly also met its untimely demise in Episode 8 of Season 4 of the hugely popular series. He ruled the screen with his irresistible swagger and barbed tongue, leaving a lasting mark with his sadly short time on the show.

Pascal credits this role as one that began his trajectory to the level of stardom in which we recognize him, a role he handled with such grace and ease that it’s almost shocking to realize just how much he’s recently become. familiar name.

Don’t worry, we all know Oberyn really won that fight against the Mountain. He got the last laugh, which suits the character perfectly.

The Mandalorian -Disney+

The role Pascal is probably best known for is bounty hunter Din Djarin from the very first live-action star wars series, The Mandalorian. While Grogu is a scene-stealer, why lie, Pascal’s portrayal of his early reluctant space father is equally, if not more, endearing.

The most notable aspect of Pascal’s portrayal is the ease with which he conveys emotions through his Mandalorian helmet, which must remain in place according to the Mandalorian creed, specifically that of the Children of the Watch. Pascal made Din one of the most beloved star wars all-time characters with nothing but his voice, creating this remarkable character’s entire personality on diction alone. A task that is certainly not easy, but Pascal has made it seem nothing short of effortless.

Season 3 of The Mandalorian is incoming. Filming wrapped on the season earlier this year.

Narcos -Netflix

Juan Pablo Gutierrez / NETFLIX

Based on a true story, Pascal’s role as DEA agent Javier Peña in Netflix Narcos was her next biggest role after her successful run in The iron Throne. Pascal directed all three seasons of the series, the first two alongside Boyd Holbrook before taking over as Season 3 lead.

Stoic, headstrong, and desperate to catch Colombia’s narcos, Pascal played Peña as the dangerously flawed, immaculately dressed DEA hero who helped defeat Pablo Escobar. Peña was a character bogged down by secrets and a lot of self-loathing, and Pascal managed to portray all of his layers through nothing but facial expression at times, one of his specialties.

Triple Frontier -Netflix

Triple Frontier presents exactly what the world wants and deserves, an Isaacal team. Pascal stars alongside real-life BFF Oscar Isaac, along with Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam, and Garrett Hedlund.

Triple Frontier follows the five-man team on a mission that goes horribly wrong and they will have to rely on each other and their skills if they are to make it out alive. Pascal plays pilot Frankie “Catfish” Morales, who just happens to be one of the band members who makes sense about him. As with all of Pascal’s roles, his charisma shines through to make Catfish one of the most enigmatic of the bunch, and it’s just plain fun to watch.

As someone who doesn’t usually like heist movies, this one caught my attention. Also, we can never say no to Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal sharing the screen, it’s against the code. This is the way.

Perspective –Hulu

If you like independent films, Perspective is the one you need. Pascal plays Ezra, a dangerous stranger who finds a teenage girl, Cee, and her father on a strange planet. It’s dystopian, otherworldly and an absolute wild space western from start to finish, with stunning cinematography along the way.

Ezra’s character arc is one of the highlights of the film. Pascal is a master at playing complex characters and taking viewers on a nuanced journey as he develops them throughout the project. Where Ezra starts isn’t the same man we see at the end of the film, and for Pascal to transform Ezra in that short time required someone very skilled at his craft.

An important aspect of Pascal’s role in Perspective is the care he put into creating Ezra and what attracted him to the role. He liked Ezra’s dialogue, as it reminded him of the Shakespearian plays he had performed, something Pascal’s acting history wouldn’t be expected to refer to the bigger roles he had. has played. Also, that streak of blonde hair was his whole idea and while the director Zeek Earl maybe not a fan, we are.

The bubble -Netflix

Laura Radford/Netflix

In Judd Apatow’s latest film, The bubble, Pascal plays the actor Dieter Bravo, and to meet him is to love him. Pascal himself curated the look of this character himself, wardrobe, Crocs, and everything.

Stuck in a Covid bubble as they film the sixth installment in a sci-fi series about drowning, Dieter is certainly the liveliest and, well, weirdest of the bunch. Dieter brings some of the biggest laughs in the movie, all thanks to Pascal’s unfettered and savage portrayal of all of Dieter’s antics. The bubble really showed that Pascal has all the ingredients for a perfect comedic performance, especially in timing and line delivery, which are two underrated skills in comedy.

With The bubble, it was just introducing another valuable tool in Pascal’s seemingly bottomless toolbox. This project has proven he can excel in any genre, and while we don’t know why it took him so long to land a big comedic role, hopefully there won’t be more. stop at his door.
