Shilpa Shinde on Not Working After Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai: People Assumed I Didn’t Want to Act in TV Shows

Shilpa Shinde has become a very popular name in the entertainment industry thanks to her show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. In the sitcom, she played the role of Angoori Bhabhi as she was loved by the audience for her beauty and expressions. She was later seen in Bigg Boss 11 and Gangs of Filmistan. The actress recently opened up about her career break on TV shows and talks about the reason for being single.

Shilpa, who won Bigg Boss 11, has not worked on a fictional show since 2017 after leaving Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! For the past five years, she has only been seen on select comedy shows and webcasts. She says, “There’s money, fame and a lot of good work in TV, but people assumed I didn’t want to do TV shows. And since I wasn’t offered anything nice, I explored the digital medium and did a few webcasts. Bhabi Ji…was my comeback show and after that I didn’t want to do something where I just had to stand and give expressions.

The actress is known for speaking her mind and has been accused of throwing tantrums in the past. Shilpa Shinde shared that there have been some issues but if these are projected as tantrums or attitude then she means nothing. She said she was clear, outspoken, and undiplomatic about things, so people got the impression that she was short-tempered and losing her temper.

The actress, who was engaged to actor Romit Raj years ago, shared that she was happy to be single. Shilpa says, “Romit and I were engaged a long time ago and I was very young then. I didn’t want to settle down then, but everyone around me thought it was the right age to get married. Afterwards, things didn’t work out between Romit and me, and the relationship fell apart. After my engagement broke up, I had another relationship, but it was a very bad experience. Maine apne kaan pakad liye that i would walk away from relationships. I realized that I’m happy to be single. I can’t answer anyone. When I’m working, and if someone asks me where I’m going or what I’m doing, I can’t keep answering them.
