A behind-the-scenes teaser has been released for Jordan Peele’s mysterious new film Nope, giving fans new insight into the making of the “cinematic event”.
Universal Pictures has shared an exclusive look at Nope in a two-minute video that shows the entire crew gathering on set to shoot the film. There are snippets of scenes and performances as the production team rolls the cameras on what Jordan Peele describes as “the most ambitious cinematic event” he has planned so far in his career.
This video comes shortly after the release of a batch of new character posters for Nope as promotion for the film heats up ahead of its theatrical release next month. The one-sheets tease sky-high threat as cast members are depicted gazing up at the stars, with Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Michael Wincott and Brandon Perea in the mix.
Nope’s first trailer alludes to an evil force threatening our main characters, and a previous poster for the film pointed at a potential extraterrestrial threat, showing a horse and other objects floating in the night sky. Peele has since confirmed that the film will feature some sort of alien invasion, but he hasn’t given much more than that.
Along with writing and directing the picture, Peele is attached as a producer alongside Ian Cooper of Monkeypaw Productions. Universal Pictures is distributing Nope, marking Peele’s third collaboration with the studio following his directorial debut, Get Out, and the subsequent follow-up, Us, which had the highest opening for an original horror film at the box office.
