Matthew Lillard Launches New Studio With Vampire Let Them Die Movie


After its theatrical release in February, the black and white version of Guillermo del Torois nominated for an Oscar alley of nightmares is now returning to Hulu this month, we learned.

Double Nightmare Alley: A Vision in Darkness and Lightthe black-and-white version of del Toro’s latest film will be available to stream on Hulu from April 25, 2022.

“Although we fired alley of nightmares in color, we lit it like it was black and white,” del Toro said. “You can see the exact same level of design, and we wanted to give viewers that particular edge as a take on the classic noir genre that the film is a part of.”

Cinematographer Dan Laustsen explained, “When we were designing and shooting, we were always thinking about color and black and white. The classic lighting I used is a tribute to all the amazing masters of cinema that have inspired me.

Meagan wrote in her review for BD, “alley of nightmares delivers psychological thrills in a deeply haunting and complex rumination on society’s dark underbelly, the pursuit of success and the damnation that may lurk in the end. Meagan goes on to write, “Not the filmmaker’s strongest effort, but it’s still a soaring show that casts a spell.”

Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, Mary Steenburgenand David Strathairn star in Alley of Nightmares.

In the movie…

“An ambitious young carny (Cooper) with a knack for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words bonds with a female psychiatrist (Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.”

The film adapts the novel by William Lindsay Gresham.
