Dwayne Johnson had to fight for a while to prove he was a viable movie star and not just a fancy casting choice for roles like a certain cartoon scorpion monster that they accidentally put in a movie. otherwise live-action, but Dave Bautista exploded beyond the “wrestler-turned-actor” label to become a regular actor pretty quickly. Oh sure, his most famous role is to scream shirtless, but he doesn’t because he was a wrestler. It is because it is damn good at that.

Either way, Bautista has lined up his next movie role, and while we only know four things about it (courtesy of Deadline), it can be very interesting. Here’s the first thing: it’s written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, whose film Old (about a beach that makes you age) indicated a continued return to form for the filmmaker after a string of flops – although the worst of those flops happened over a decade ago now, we So we probably don’t need to continue to be surprised that Shyamalan still has it.

The second thing we know is that the movie is called Knock on the hut. The third thing we know is that it will hit theaters on February 3, 2023 (a date that will do good on a poster at least). Finally, the fourth thing we know is… Dave Bautista will be there.

So we’re working with pretty sparse information here. We don’t know the genre (although we can guess, given Shyamalan’s track record), we don’t know anything about Bautista’s character, we don’t know what Knock on the hut means on a purely literal level, and we don’t know what the big twist will be in the end, although, just like with the obsolete references to his flops, Shyamalan doesn’t even really make an explicit ‘twist’ every time of our days.

As for Bautista, this comes after a string of great movies: he was in Dune very briefly and will probably be in the sequel, it will be in knives outside 2, he played in Army of the dead, and it will come back to the MCU for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
