Following allegations of sexual assault against Chris Noth (Sex and the city, law and order), the actor was fired from his role on CBS ‘ The equalizer, according to the deadline. Sunday January 2 was the last episode of Noth as William Bishop in the series starring Queen Latifah. Deadline tried to reach CBS to comment on his departure, but they did not respond.
Noth was charged with sexual assault by two women, with a fifth woman making allegations. According to Hollywood journalist, the two women searched the post months apart to detail the alleged attacks in 2004 and 2015. The women say they are now coming forward due to Noth’s appearance in the Sex and the city rebirth as the character of womanizer, Mr. Big.
“Seeing that he was resuming his role in Sex and the city triggered something in me, âone of the women told The Hollywood Reporter. “For so many years, I buried him.”
Noth sent a comment to the reporter after contacting him. Other attempts to ABC News to get in touch with his publicist and the lawyer who is listed as the representative for comments failed.
âThe accusations made against me by people I met years, if not decades ago, are categorically false. These stories could be from 30 years or 30 days ago – no, that still means no – that’s a line I haven’t crossed. The meetings were consensual. It’s hard not to question when these stories come out. I don’t know for sure why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women, âNoth said in his statement.
Zoe, a pseudonym given by The Reporter, said she worked for a company in Los Angeles that frequently worked with Noth and other celebrities. Zoe said that Noth would walk past her office a lot and flirt with her. He would even supposedly leave her flirtatious voicemail messages which she would then show to her former boss. Zoe’s former boss said that while she found these messages “strange”, she did not consider them “alarming”.
It was the peak Sex and the city, “she said.” He was like a god to us.
As the relationship progressed, Zoe claims that Noth one day invited her to his apartment for a poolside party. It was there that Noth allegedly took off her pants and raped her.
âIt was very painful and I shouted, ‘Stop!’ », She declared. âAnd he didn’t. I said, ‘Can you at least have a condom?’ and he laughed at me.
Lily, yet another pseudonym, recalled her story from 2015 as a waitress at the now-closed No.8 New York club. Being a self-proclaimed fan of Noth, she was delighted to see him come in and start flirting with her. She said he asked her on a date and after that night they went to her apartment in Greenwich Village where Noth had supposedly imposed himself.
The two women sought advice after the incidents. Zoe even sought advice at a rape aid center. This center confirmed its stay with the Hollywood Reporter.
These allegations prompted actor Zoe Lister-Jones (Life in pieces, how it ends), who worked with Noth while he starred in Law and order and she was a guest star, to express herself on social networks.
“Last week my friend asked me how I felt about Mr. Big’s death in And Just Like That, and I said, honestly, I felt relieved,” she said. writing. âHe asked why and I told him it was because I couldn’t separate the actor from the man, and the man is a sexual predator,â Lister-Jones said.
According to ABC News, the Los Angeles Police Department has not opened an investigation into Noth and Sheriff Captain Richard Ruiz has confirmed that the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Office has not also more open to investigation into him.
