To create the decor of Denis Villeneuve Dunesset designer Patrice Vermette returned to Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name. Vermette imagined how the weather and wind conditions depicted would affect the architecture the characters moved through, resulting in angular buildings with thick stone walls to protect against extreme heat.
